The boys took part in the top grade of the sciath na scol south east blitz. They played really well despite coming up against very strong opposition. We showed some great skill and teamwork and hopefully we will improve by playing at this high standard.

We had a wonderful time looking at all the costumes in school today. Well done to all who dressed up.

We were delighted to welcome Pat McCarthy’s nephews Gary and Cian to the school today. Both men were on the victorious Sars hurling team that won the county championship recently. The cake sale was a wonderful success today. Thanks to all the parents and children who baked and brought in such lovely buns and cakes. The parents did a wonderful job organising the whole event. Well done to all involved.  

  Congratulations to the girls’ football team who defeated both RingaskiddyN.S and Gurranes N.S. in Shamrocks GAA club to win the South East Girls’ blitz . The team played with great spirit and showed some excellent skill throughout both games. Captain Rebecca McGrath collected a beautiful plaque and gold medals on behalf of the team . Well done girls!

The children in the senior classes are taking part in a conker tournament during lunch time. Mrs Tuohy is organising this event and the early round has proven to be very entertaining.

The pupils and staff are looking forward to the Cake Sale on Friday. A note went home about this event today. Thanks to the parents association for coordinating this most enjoyable annual event.

The south east football blitzes are on this week. The girls are playing in Shanbally on Tuesday and the boys are in Brinny on Thursday. Best of luck to both teams.
