Congratulations to our 2016 Maths Table Quiz Winners, Aaron and Matthew, (3rd Class) and Will and James (5th Class) and our Runner-Up Team members, Isobelle and Donncha (3rd ) and Aaron and Dara (5th). The quiz was held recently during Maths Week in our school. It was a joint venture between Third Class and Fifth Class, where each team had two pupils from each of those two classes.
The standard was exceptionally high this year. There was only one point between the top two teams at the end of a very exciting tie-breaker round, with all pupils helping to contribute to the final results.
We thank the Parents’ Association, who kindly sponsored prizes with a mathematical theme (packs of cards, Sudoku, Geometry sets, Chess sets, etc) for all the prizewinners.
Congratulations also, to those pupils from 3rd, 4th and 5th Class, pictured below, who were winners in the Lunchtime BrainSnack Competition. This activity proved very popular during the big lunch-break every day during Maths Week. The Parents’Association again sponsored several prizes and lots of pupils went home with small rewards for their efforts during the week.
Well done to all who took part in the 2016 Maths Week Activities !!
