Congratulations !!

We congratulate the Shamrocks Minor hurling team who are grade C county champions, after a 7 point win over Lisgoold at Ballincollig on Sunday 28th September. All in Shanbally school are very proud of the many connections the team has with our school.  A total of fourteen on the Minor Panel are past-pupils of our school and we hope that the encouragement that those pupils received during their time in Shanbally NS  played some part in the development  of the many skills which they displayed on the field over the past number of weeks.  The team mentor, John Jordan, is also a past-pupil of our school.  Resource teacher, Ms. Nollaig Boland, is a sister of team Captain, Aonghus Boland, and she is very proud of her young brother, and rightly so!

And, finally, all the school community are very proud that our Principal, Mr. David Nolan, is the Manager of the Minor Team. We know that the team are extremely grateful to Mr. Nolan for the work that he and his team of selectors have selflessly put in behind the scenes. He has been an inspirational leader and his expertise and leadership qualities have no doubt, helped this young team believe in themselves and, in doing so, lift the spirits of the club and all the Shamrock supporters. Well done, Mr. Nolan and all who played a part in this Minor Hurling win.  Let’s hope you all have many more enjoyable games of Hurling ahead of you  with the Shamrocks Hurling and Football Club!!
