Twenty-seven children from Second Class received their First Holy Communion in the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church on Saturday, May 17th in the presence of parents, relatives and friends. Both Fr. Con and Fr. Sean helped make the ceremony a memorable one, not alone for the boys and girls, but also for the extended family members who came from far and near to share the wonderful occasion with the children.
Fr. Con thanked Claire O Connell, class teacher, Principal, Mr. Nolan, all the staff of the school, the choir, the sacristans, Pat and Anita and the parents who had faithfully supported the “Do This in Memory” programme which started last September for this group of boys and girls. The children were a credit to both their parents and to the school, and everybody was very proud of this excellent group of 2nd Class pupils.
Congratulations, boys and girls!! We hope you will always have many happy memories of your First Communion day.
