Dear Parents,
We need to convene another meeting to appoint parent representatives to our new Board of Management 2015-2019. This meeting is scheduled for Monday 23rd November at 7pm and should be concluded by 7.30pm at the latest.
The format of the meeting (as outlined in a previous newsletter) is for nominations to be invited for both a mothers’ panel and a fathers’ panel at the meeting. Each nominee must be seconded by a person in attendance at the meeting. If there is only one nominee for either panel, the nominee(s) shall be deemed to be elected. If more than one nomination is received for either of the panels, a secret ballot shall be held at the meeting and whoever has the most votes will be appointed.
The Board of Management plays an integral role in the running of the school. That said, we would hope that participation in the Board would not impose too much on your time. Typically a Board of Management meets five to six times a year.
