A special word of congratulations to the boys and girls who celebrated their First Holy Communion on Saturday, 16th May. The children were absolutely brilliant and it was wonderful to witness them take part in the Mass, with such enthusiasm and confidence.
It was a very special day, not just for the children but also for their families with grandparents, relatives and friends travelling from afar to share in their joy.
Mr. Nolan thanked all who were involved in the ceremony, helping to make it a very special day for all the young boys and girls. Among others, he thanked our wonderful priests, Fr. Sean O’Sullivan and Fr. Con Cronin for supporting the children in their journey to their First Holy Communion with such great care and commitment.
Ms.O’Connell led the choir with beautiful singing. Mr. Nolan acknowledged all those who have helped the children in their preparation: their parents, their teachers, Ms. Mary Sheahan and Ms. Margaret Ryan, SNA Ms. Mary O’Reilly, the parents who helped to co-ordinate their “Do this in Memory Mass” each month and the parish community who have welcomed them so warmly at all the Masses.
The church, school and surrounding area looked resplendent and the reception in the school was top-class, thanks to a wonderful group of parents and their children who spent a great deal of time and energy organising the reception.
Here are some photos of the day:
