Sciath na Scol Match Arrangements
Dear Parents,
We are delighted to be contesting the Allianz Sciath na Scol DFG 5 Final next Tuesday November 12th at 12 noon sharp. This game takes place in Pairc Uí Rinn against Cloyne. As per tradition, we are looking forward to supporting the girls in huge numbers. Following consultation, we propose that all classes will finish at 10.30am. Juniors, Seniors and First Class will go home at 10.30am. We intend to take all pupils from 2nd Class to 6thClass to the game by bus. Of course, parents may wish to bring siblings from the Junior Classes (Junior to First) themselves to the game.
In school, we will have a brief lunch/toilet break at 10.30am and then board buses for Páirc Uí Rinn. We intend to have all students in position, seated in the covered stand, by around 11.40am, ready to greet and cheer our girls during the customary pre-match introductions.
The game is 20 minutes each half and unless there’s a need for extra-time the game should end (approx.) at 12.50. Following the medal presentations to both teams we will return by bus to Shanbally School.
Our Parents Association have most kindly offered to host a reception for our team. The school day will finish as normal at 2.30pm.
We would kindly ask that all pupils in 2nd to 6th classes would bring €2 to subsidise the cost of the bus. Pupils may wear the school tracksuit and of course jackets, hats etc. which are necessary at this time of year. Pupils should only bring medicines e.g. inhalers to the stadium. We will not be bringing school bags, lunches, spending money etc.
We are really excited at the prospect of what should be a most memorable and positive occasion for all in Shanbally NS. We are confident of a great match and, hopefully, result and are most grateful and proud of all the girls and staff who have helped us reach this Final, regardless of the final result.
