October 14th 2013:  Update no. 6

Dear Parents,

Juliet Murphy

Juliet Murphy will now visit on Wednesday at 11am. We look forward to welcoming her in a blaze of red & white. I believe the weather forecast is wet so we will probably host Juliet in the Halla.

CUH Fundraiser

Máire Watson of the CUH was genuinely delighted with the wonderful turnout on Saturday. Thanks to everyone who was able to take part and for raising vital funds for such an important cause. As parents we are acutely aware of the important work CUH do in difficult circumstances and conditions. I ask that all sponsorship cards and money are returned as soon as possible. Máire intends to visit us next week to collect the money raised and to thank our students personally for their efforts. The response was terrific in light of other fundraising activities which were on-going locally. Everyone worked really well to ensure a safe and enjoyable walk for all.

Nathan Kirwan Fundraiser

This red/white fundraiser, a few weeks ago, raised €487. This, combined with monies raised by teachers Anne-Marie Barry, Kathleen Tuohy and Mary Sheahan in the recent Cork Mini Marathon, brought the total raised to a whopping €1227.

Hallelujah Concert

A reminder that tickets for this event are available from Ms. O‘Connell, 2nd Class teacher and event coordinator. Monday 21st is the deadline to get your tickets.

Lenrec Recycling

A reminder that Lenrec Recycling will be in school on Friday week, October 25th, to collect used clothes, books, phones etc. They can be left in the back of the Halla.

PA Cake Sale

Also on October 25th, our PA will hold a Bake/Cake Sale with prizes for the best Halloween costumes in school that day.

Tennis

Pat McCrann has asked us to remind you that after school tennis is now available on Thursdays. Contact Pat a t 087-2349022 if you are interested in tennis lessons for your child.

Congratulations!

Huge congrats to Ms. Sandra Moran (6th class teacher) who was part of the winning Carrigaline Team who won the Camogie Intermediate Title in a dramatic replay on Saturday last. Pride of place and special mention to our Girls Sciath na Scol Football Team who have qualified for their first-ever final. These finals will take place after mid-term. Details will be communicated to you once finalised. We look forward to Shanbally en-masse cheering on our girls that we are so proud of. We anticipate the finals will be the week of Monday November 10th in either Pairc Uí Rinn or Pairc Uí Chaoimh

Thank you,

David Nolan
