Dear Parents,
As we head in to our Easter holidays I’d like to remind you of important dates and details as follows:
- Early Finish this Friday March 22nd at 12.30 for juniors/seniors + siblings and 12.45 for rest of school.
Please ensure that collection arrangements are in place to avoid children being left uncollected.
- Our 6th class have been invited to take part in a Tree Planting Ceremony this Friday between 9.30 and 11.30 in the GSK grounds. Details to be finalised through Mr. Clifford.
- Our Annual PA Easter raffle takes place on Friday. Tickets are on sale from tomorrow at €1 per strip. Thanks to the PA for sponsoring prizes for our Green Dress Up day last Friday. Well done to all the children who brought great colour and a sense of fun to the occasion.
- A reminder that High Street Books Savings stamps are available every Friday from the school. Please note that High Street Books will be in school on June 6th. 10% of all sales on that day are returned directly to the school. As you are aware we are currently examining the feasibility of introducing a Book Rental Scheme throughout the school. More details to follow but the concept is that every class would donate their core books to the following class. Any replacement books needed would be funded through the Book Rental Scheme.
- Every student who returned a permission slip can take part in our Fashion Show on April 25th. Tickets for the Fashion Show go on sale tomorrow through all Parents Association Committee members. Tickets are €10 per adult seat and all children (in the school) are €2. Please note that there will be a designated area for children to ensure a good view near the runway on the night. Fashion Show starts at 7pm. Further details will be forwarded by the PA after Easter. Please note that Fashion Show proceeds will be invested in our Book Rental Scheme/ IT provision.
- May we remind you that monies are now due as outlined in previous correspondence for Gymnastics and Science. Lismore Mobile Science Workshops were in school today with the younger classes and are back tomorrow with 4th, 5th and 6th. Please refer to the note as more monies for some classes will be due after Easter.
- Please note that we return to school on Monday April 8th. Swimming starts for 5th and 6th classes on that date. Also don’t forget that we have a Staff Meeting on Thursday April 11th at school will close early at 12.30/12.45.
All in Shanbally wish First Class teacher, Margaret Dullea, best wishes for her upcoming wedding. Sincere thanks to the wonderful generosity of First Class parents in marking the occasion.
Best wishes for a safe and enjoyable Easter Holidays.
David Nolan
