The boys and girls in 4th Class recently completed the Junior Achievement Programme “Our Nation”, under the excellent guidance of Volunteer, Mr. Graham O’Keeffe of Abbott Ireland, Carrigtwohill (also a parent in our school). During this series of workshops the pupils studied business operations, resources and economic issues in Ireland. They learned about the three different forms of Business and were shown the steps involved in starting a business – indeed the students were so interested in the whole programme that it became very evident as the weeks went by that we have some future entrepreneurs in our midst !!
The purpose of Junior Achievement is to educate and inspire young people to value free enterprise, business and economics education of young people in Ireland and throughout the world. It is financed by businesses and foundations. See www.juniorachievement.ie for further information.
