The pupils in First Class were recently reading about Neil Armstrong’s landing on the moon. As a result, they decided to make their own models of rockets – with a little help from their family and friends!

Most of the rockets were made from recycled materials including cardboard, tinfoil, plastic, egg cartons, toilet roll holders, etc.

In the construction phase, they became very aware of 2D and 3D shapes – for example how cylinders and cones fitted together, etc.

The children put a huge amount of work into their rockets and the final constructions were truly amazing in their variety.

Well done to our budding astronauts and their supporting crews!
