Sixth Class Science Show in Shanbally NS

Well done to all the Sixth Class pupils and to their teacher, Ms. Moran, on an absolutely brilliant Science Show last Friday 13th November. For the past few years the Science Show has become a highlight of the week during Science Week, in our school. This year the pupils excelled once again. They researched their work carefully, tried out their experiment at home and then demonstrated their work, not only to all the pupils at school, but to the parents who visited the school on our recent open night. They showed great confidence during the whole science show and it was clear that each pupil had researched their chosen subject very well and had a very clear understanding of their experiment.

Well done to all the Sixth Class pupils and to their teacher, Ms. Moran !!

We would welcome any pupil’s  account of the show and we would be happy to publish them on this page also.

Senior Infants enjoyed the puppies’ visit

Today Toby and Rosie visited Senior infants. The children really enjoyed the visit. Toby and Rosie get treats when they are good. They are in training. They will help children with special needs when they are trained

Junior Infants

Junior Infants had great fun learning the safe cross code! We all got a high visibility vest from the RSA to keep us safer on the roads.

Pancake Tuesday!

The pupils from Juniors to 1st class had a lovely treat recently. Colin Murphy’s dad, Richard, sent in a large tray of pancakes for the occasion. They had their own preferences for the toppings- sugar, lemon, chocolate sauce and chocolate sauce with extra sugar! I think the photographs speak for themselves! Fortunately, we were also able to give some pancakes to the senior classes. Thanks again to Richard Murphy.

Happy Halloween

The second class boys and girls really got into the Halloween spirit this week. Everyone displayed great enthusiasm and creativity in designing Halloween masks and they all did a really wonderful job. Well done!!

Second Class

Well done to all the boys and girls in second class who did a great job at the enrolment ceremony last Sunday. Everyone worked hard at the prayers, songs and artwork and we had a lovely mass. Big thank you to the parents for all their help and Mr. Shanahan for the lovely music.

School Tour to Fota

Junior and Senior Infants had a great day at Fota. We saw loads of animals, like cheetahs, monkeys, lemurs, flamingos, giraffes and many more. We learned lots about the animals from our wonderful tour guides. We also found interesting minibeasts in the woods before enjoying a lovely lunch on the picnic benches.
