Safer Internet Day 2017

Safer Internet Day 2017 will take place on Tuesday 7th February.

The 2017 theme is:

Be the change: unite for a better internet

Safer Internet Day (SID) is a moment in the year where children and young people, parents and carers and schools can all come together and talk openly and honestly about the positives of the internet as well as the potential risks.

The whole point of SID is to raise awareness of how we all can help create a better internet and help promote the safe, responsible and positive use of digital technology for children and young people.

Webwise is the Irish Internet Safety Awareness Centre, which is funded by the Department of Education and Skills and the EU Safer Internet Programme.  It aims to educate and promote dialogue between children, teachers and parents on safe and appropriate use of the internet and new media.

Parents, please take the opportunity to visit the following websites this week and unite with the school to create a better internet for the pupils of Shanbally National School.
